playstation 2 beats platstation 3 in sales =O

Well, looking at April’s index sales produce by the NPD group, the playstation 3 found itself beaten its predecessor, the Playstation 2. The Playstation 2 is still a great success, for console that is over 9 years old is still selling like hot cakes. The Playstation 3 and PSP had the most disappointing results, so i will not bother posting the index numbers. Somehow this is feels like Deja vu but only it’s with the Playstation 2.  so, i figure the playstation 2 has about a year or two before they cease the launch of the playstation 2 consoles and more the this generation consoles.  With that being said looks like sony is going to have to make a price cut for playstation 3 if the only platforms their going to have will be the playstation 3 and playstation portable. I can see that $100 price cut like was promised a couple of months ago. DO NOT FAIL ME SONY!!!!

For those who do not own a Sony’s PlayStation 3, maybe April is the right time to purchase one. Even though it seems that people do realize the value of video games compared to other ways of entertainment, the PlayStation 3 game console is still a way behind competing Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii in terms of price range. “Despite the high manufacturing costs of PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. will lower the price of the system this April reported by Sony’s Analyst. Sony’s PlayStation 3 have been slowing down in the recent months because of the high price and global economic problems, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. will reduce the price of the entry-level PS3 to $299, which is just $50 higher than the price of Nintendo Wii and is inline with the cost of Microsoft Xbox 360 60GB console. The price-cut should boost popularity of the PS3, which retails for $399 today, among consumers who are cutting down their spending because of gloomy economic outlook. But the price-cut may not be exactly what Sony would like to do with the PlayStation 3. Each PS3 video game machine still costs $448 to build despite of the official price tag of $399, therefore, the manufacturer is losing money on every unit sold. Sony Group, the parent company of SCEI, is rumored to post $1.12 billion loss in March for the fiscal year and Sony’s video game unit said earlier that this year the company will concentrate on making money, not cutting prices.

I think once the Sony makes this price cut on the PlayStation 3 it will be more affordable for Electronic consumers and the sales of Sony’s PlayStation 3 will begin to grow. Remember PlayStation 3 is not only a gaming console, it’s also a True HD 1080p Blu-Ray DVD player. In addition, if you have a laptop or a desktop you can link the two together and get special features on your PlayStation 3. Also, of course if your a real electronic lover get the PlayStation Portable, with that you can access everything on your PlayStation 3 from your nice PSP 11 cm LCD screen anywhere with wireless Internet connection.

Also, the Sony’s PlayStation 3 hard-drive can be easily upgraded. In fact, that was the point of the back up system, for you to upgrade your hard-drive. The Highest 2.5 hard-drive is 500 GB.  The PlayStation 3 uses a Sea Gate 80GB/160 GB 5400 rpm 2.5″(Laptop Form Factor) Hard drive.  Backing up and Reloading the PlayStation 3 software is easy as 00000001, 00000010, 00000011!
